The VALUE COLLECTION 51100225 is a taper shank live center designed for use in metalworking lathes and turning operations. Built with a Morse Taper 4 (MT4) shank and constructed from steel, this live center supports workpiece weights up to 440 pounds and operates at speeds up to 2,000 RPM. The standard point style measures 32 mm in diameter and 200 mm in length, with a runout accuracy of 0.007 mm. It is a working component that rotates with the workpiece, reducing friction and heat during turning, and is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in production and job shop environments.
This live center is suited for medium-to-heavy turning work on manual and CNC lathes equipped with an MT4 tailstock. The 440-pound workpiece capacity and 2,000 RPM maximum speed make it appropriate for general-purpose shaft turning, cylindrical grinding setups, and similar between-center operations. Its steel construction provides durability under continuous cutting loads. The standard point geometry handles common cylindrical and tapered workpieces encountered in general metalworking and maintenance machining.
Designed as a direct-mount live center for lathes with an MT4 Morse Taper tailstock bore, suitable for general-purpose metalworking turning and between-center operations.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the lathe before inserting or removing the live center from the tailstock. Clean the MT4 taper bore and shank thoroughly before seating to ensure proper fit and minimize runout. Do not exceed the rated workpiece weight or maximum RPM to avoid bearing failure or workpiece ejection.
