The Value Collection 4RSB4X2 is a stainless steel reducer coupling designed to connect two pipes of different diameters within a threaded piping system. It uses National Pipe Taper (NPT) end connections on both ends, providing a secure, leak-resistant seal when properly installed. Constructed from stainless steel, this fitting offers corrosion resistance suitable for demanding fluid and gas service applications. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting during new construction and retrofit work where pipe diameter transitions are required in pressurized systems.
This reducer coupling is suited for use in residential, commercial, and light industrial piping systems where NPT threaded connections are standard. It is commonly installed in water supply lines, compressed air systems, and process piping wherever a reduction in pipe size is needed inline. The stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for applications involving moisture, mild chemicals, or environments that would corrode carbon steel fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard installation fitting for NPT threaded piping systems requiring an inline diameter reduction.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or ASME B31 piping codes. Depressurize and drain the system completely before removing any existing fittings or installing this coupling. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to NPT threads before assembly to ensure a leak-free joint. Do not over-tighten threaded connections, as this can crack fittings or damage threads.
