The VALUE COLLECTION 4HP3/8 is a 3/8-inch male NPT hex plug manufactured from 304 stainless steel. It is designed to close off pipe ends and unused port openings in piping systems. The hex head allows installation and removal with a standard wrench, keeping the fitting secure under pressure. Rated at 150 psi, this plug is suitable for low- to medium-pressure plumbing, hydraulic, and industrial fluid systems. Plumbers, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians install this type of fitting during system commissioning, service isolation, or permanent dead-end closures. The all-threaded MNPT connection conforms to standard tapered pipe thread dimensions for a reliable seal with sealant tape or thread compound.
This hex plug is used in residential and commercial plumbing, industrial piping, and process fluid systems wherever a threaded port needs to be capped. The 3/8-inch MNPT thread makes it compatible with standard 3/8-inch female NPT pipe connections. Common applications include capping tee branches, plugging pump ports, closing manifold outlets, and sealing test ports. The 304 stainless steel construction provides good corrosion resistance in water, mild chemical, and general-service environments, making it a practical choice for both indoor and outdoor installations.
Designed as a standard threaded replacement or new-installation hex pipe plug for any 3/8-inch female NPT port in plumbing, hydraulic, or industrial fluid piping systems rated at or below 150 psi.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter. Always depressurize and drain the line before removing or installing pipe plugs. Apply PTFE thread tape or an appropriate pipe thread compound to the male threads before installation to ensure a leak-free seal. Tighten using a wrench on the hex head only — avoid overtightening, which can crack female fittings, especially in cast iron or brass bodies.
