The VALUE COLLECTION 4BN1X8 is a stainless steel pipe nipple manufactured to Schedule 40 wall thickness with NPT (National Pipe Taper) threading on both ends. Pipe nipples are short lengths of pipe used to connect two fittings, valves, or other threaded components in a piping system. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion in wet, chemical, and high-temperature environments. Schedule 40 wall thickness meets standard pressure requirements for most commercial and industrial plumbing, HVAC hydronic, and process piping applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting as part of threaded pipe assemblies.
This pipe nipple is suited for use in residential and commercial plumbing systems, HVAC hydronic heating and cooling loops, steam lines, and light industrial process piping where corrosion resistance is required. The NPT thread standard makes it compatible with the majority of threaded pipe fittings, valves, unions, and couplings used across plumbing and mechanical trades. Stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for use with water, steam, and many mildly corrosive media.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or assembly component compatible with standard NPT-threaded Schedule 40 pipe fittings, valves, and couplings used in residential and commercial plumbing and mechanical piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the supply line completely before removing or installing any threaded pipe fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to NPT threads before assembly and tighten to hand-tight plus wrench turns using a pipe wrench — do not overtighten stainless threads to avoid galling. Inspect threads for damage before installation.
