The VALUE COLLECTION 47147 is a smooth flange bolt designed for high-strength fastening applications where a bearing surface is needed without a separate washer. It features a 5/8-11 UNC thread form and is fully threaded along its 1-1/2 inch length under head, giving maximum thread engagement in blind or through-hole assemblies. The integrated smooth flange measures 1-21/64 inches (1.3281 inches) in diameter and distributes clamping load evenly across the joint surface. Constructed from Grade 8 alloy steel with a zinc yellow dichromate finish, this bolt delivers high tensile strength and corrosion resistance in demanding mechanical and structural environments. It is used by maintenance professionals, millwrights, and mechanical contractors.
This flange bolt is suited for heavy equipment assembly, industrial machinery, automotive drivetrain components, and structural steel connections where Grade 8 strength is specified. The hex drive accepts standard hex wrenches and impact sockets. The zinc yellow dichromate coating provides moderate corrosion protection and meets IFI 111 and SAE J429 standards. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 25 pieces per order, making it appropriate for shop stock and maintenance parts inventory.
Designed as a standard 5/8-11 UNC smooth flange bolt for use in any application specifying a Grade 8 alloy steel hex flange fastener to IFI 111 or SAE J429.
Installation is performed by qualified mechanics, millwrights, or maintenance technicians using standard hex wrenches or impact sockets sized for 5/8-inch hex drive fasteners. Always confirm the mating thread is clean, undamaged, and matches the 5/8-11 UNC specification before installation. Apply torque to the Grade 8 rating specified in the applicable engineering drawing or fastener standard — do not substitute torque values from lower-grade hardware. Inspect the flange bearing surface and mating material for damage or debris before final torque.
