The VALUE COLLECTION 461-2009 is a parallel-style cutoff blade manufactured from M35 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright finish. Measuring 0.25 inches wide, 1.25 inches high, and 7 inches long, this blade is designed for parting and grooving operations on manual and CNC lathes. M35 cobalt construction improves heat resistance and wear life compared to standard M2 high-speed steel, making it suitable for harder workpiece materials and more demanding cutting conditions. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians working in production or job-shop environments will find this blade a dependable choice for consistent cutoff work.
This cutoff blade is intended for use in parting blade toolholders that accept a 0.25-inch-wide parallel blade profile. The parallel geometry maintains a consistent cross-section along the full 7-inch length, allowing the blade to be extended and repositioned as the cutting edge wears. It is suited for turning operations on lathes in both light manufacturing and maintenance machining environments where materials of moderate to high hardness are regularly processed.
Designed for use in standard parting blade toolholders that accept a 0.25-inch-wide by 1.25-inch-high parallel blade. Verify toolholder slot dimensions before installation to confirm fit.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the lathe before seating the blade in the toolholder. Ensure the blade is clamped securely and set to the correct height on center before resuming operation. Do not exceed the recommended blade extension beyond the toolholder, as excessive overhang increases deflection and risk of blade breakage.
