The VALUE COLLECTION 461-2008 is a beveled cutoff blade designed for parting and grooving operations on lathes and other turning equipment. Manufactured from M35 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers increased heat and wear resistance compared to standard M2 HSS blades, making it well suited for harder workpiece materials and higher cutting speeds. The blade measures 0.125 inches wide, 0.75 inches high, and 6 inches long, with a bright finish that indicates an uncoated, as-ground surface. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this blade into compatible blade-style toolholders for precise parting cuts.
This cutoff blade is used in metal-turning applications across machine shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments. The beveled blade style provides clearance during the cut, reducing rubbing and heat buildup. Its M35 cobalt composition makes it a practical choice when cutting alloy steels, stainless steels, and other tough or abrasive materials where standard HSS tooling wears prematurely. It is sold as a single blade per package.
Designed as a replacement or spare cutoff blade for use in standard blade-style parting toolholders that accept blades 0.125 inches wide and 0.75 inches high.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or adjusting the blade in the toolholder. Ensure the blade is clamped securely and extends only as far as needed for the depth of cut to minimize deflection. Inspect the blade for cracks or chips before each use and replace if any damage is found.
