The VALUE COLLECTION 45878 is a fully threaded stud designed for general fastening applications across mechanical, structural, and industrial assemblies. Threaded along its entire 6-inch length with a 1/4-20 thread form, this stud accepts standard nuts or threaded inserts at any point along the shank. Constructed from carbon steel at material grade 3.6 with a black oxide coating to resist corrosion, it is suited for light-to-moderate load applications. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, electricians, and general tradespeople use fully threaded studs for mounting, standoff applications, and threaded rod assemblies where a standard bolt head would be obstructive.
This fully threaded stud is appropriate for use in residential and light commercial construction and mechanical applications. Its 1/4-20 thread is one of the most common unified coarse thread sizes in North American trade work, making it compatible with a wide range of standard nuts, couplers, and threaded inserts. Typical uses include equipment mounting, strut channel fastening, panel standoffs, and vibration-isolated hangers. The uncoated-style black oxide surface finish keeps the profile low-profile and compatible with both ferrous and non-ferrous assemblies.
Designed for use with standard 1/4-20 hex nuts, coupling nuts, threaded inserts, and strut channel hardware in general mechanical and construction fastening applications.
Install using standard hex nuts and a wrench or nut driver sized for 1/4-20 fasteners. When using in structural or load-bearing applications, follow applicable building codes and consult torque specifications published by the assembly designer. Always inspect threads for damage before installation and ensure mating threaded components are fully engaged. Do not use in applications exceeding the rated load for grade 3.6 carbon steel at the given thread size.
