The VALUE COLLECTION 45771 is a fully threaded stud in a 3/8-16 unified coarse thread form with an overall length of 1.5 inches. Fully threaded studs carry external threads along the entire shaft, allowing engagement from both ends or use with nuts and threaded inserts throughout the full length. This stud is machined from 18-8 stainless steel and left uncoated, providing corrosion resistance suitable for wet, humid, or mildly corrosive service environments. Plumbers, HVAC techs, and general mechanical trades use fully threaded studs for panel mounting, pipe hangers, equipment brackets, and similar fastener applications where a bolt head would interfere.
This stud fits general-purpose fastening tasks in residential and light commercial settings. Typical applications include mounting HVAC components, securing plumbing supports, and assembling sheet-metal or structural brackets where through-bolting is required. The 3/8-16 thread is one of the most common coarse-thread sizes in trade work, compatible with standard 3/8-16 hex nuts, coupling nuts, and threaded inserts available at any supply house. The 18-8 stainless grade performs well in damp mechanical rooms, rooftop equipment, and outdoor installations where mild corrosion resistance is needed.
Designed as a general-purpose fully threaded stud compatible with standard 3/8-16 threaded hardware including hex nuts, coupling nuts, and threaded inserts.
Installation is performed by threading into a tapped hole, coupling nut, or threaded insert using a hex nut or appropriate driving tool. Always verify the mating thread is 3/8-16 before installation to avoid cross-threading. In pressurized or structural applications, consult applicable mechanical codes for minimum thread engagement depth. Stainless fasteners can be prone to galling — apply an appropriate anti-seize compound when threading into stainless or aluminum mating threads.
