The VALUE COLLECTION 455-054NL is a red brass pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1-inch female threaded port down to a 3/4-inch male pipe thread (MPT) connection. Rated at 125 psi and classified as Class 125, this bushing handles typical domestic water, low-pressure steam, and general plumbing service demands. The red brass construction provides good corrosion resistance in water systems where dezincification of standard yellow brass is a concern. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting when adapting between pipe sizes during new construction, renovation, or repair work on residential and light commercial piping systems.
This bushing is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications involving water supply lines, irrigation manifolds, and low-pressure fluid systems. Its MPT ends thread directly into a 1-inch female NPT fitting or valve body while accepting a 3/4-inch male-threaded pipe or fitting on the outlet side. At 2.75 inches in height and 1.75 inches across, it fits within tight spaces common in mechanical rooms and utility chases. It is sold individually and is compatible with standard NPT threaded fittings conforming to ASME B1.20.1 thread specifications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard NPT threaded piping systems requiring a 1-inch to 3/4-inch reduction in residential and light commercial plumbing applications.
A licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter should install this fitting in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before threading in or removing any fittings. Apply PTFE thread sealant tape or pipe dope to the male threads before assembly and tighten with a pipe wrench to a snug, leak-free engagement. Avoid over-tightening brass fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque.
