The VALUE COLLECTION 45107060 is a galvanized steel shortway duct reducer designed to transition airflow from a 7-inch inside diameter duct to a 6-inch inside diameter duct. At 3.5 inches in overall height, this fitting is built for tight spaces where a standard longway reducer would not fit. The uncrimped end allows the installer to make field connections without a pre-formed bead, giving flexibility in how the fitting seats into the adjoining ductwork. It is a standard-gauge galvanized fitting suited for low-pressure HVAC supply and return duct systems in residential and light commercial applications.
This reducer is used when downsizing round duct runs in forced-air systems — common in branch takeoffs, trunk-to-branch transitions, and equipment-side connections. The shortway profile keeps the fitting compact along the duct axis, which is useful in confined mechanical rooms, crawlspaces, and drop ceilings. HVAC sheet metal technicians and ductwork installers are the primary trades who work with this fitting. Its standard-gauge galvanized construction is appropriate for typical sheet metal duct systems operating at conventional residential static pressures.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard round galvanized duct systems in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician or sheet metal installer familiar with duct fabrication practices. Shut down the air handler or furnace and de-energize the system before disturbing any duct connections. Secure the reducer with sheet metal screws and seal all joints with UL-listed duct mastic or foil-backed tape in accordance with local mechanical codes. Avoid over-compressing the fitting into adjoining duct sections, as deformation of the collar can restrict airflow and increase system static pressure.
