The VALUE COLLECTION 447-080 is an 8-inch Schedule 40 PVC pipe end cap designed to permanently or temporarily terminate an open pipe end. Built for slip-fit installation, the cap slides over the pipe outside diameter and is solvent-welded in place to create a pressure-tight seal. Weighing 4.35 pounds, this cap is a standard fitting used in drain, waste, vent, and low-pressure water distribution systems. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting during system pressure testing, capping unused branch connections, or closing off future service extensions.
This end cap is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where Schedule 40 PVC is the specified pipe material. Common install scenarios include capping stubbed-out supply or drain lines, terminating irrigation lateral lines, and blanking off unused manifold ports. The slip connection style requires solvent cement compatible with PVC Schedule 40 fittings to meet code-required joint integrity.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 8-inch Schedule 40 PVC piping systems using slip-fit solvent-weld connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following local plumbing code and IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the line before cutting or capping. Clean and deburr the pipe end, apply PVC primer and Schedule 40-rated solvent cement to both the pipe and cap socket, and seat firmly with a quarter-turn. Allow full cure time per cement manufacturer instructions before returning the line to service.
