The VALUE COLLECTION 439-099 is a Schedule 40 PVC pipe bushing designed to reduce a 3/4-inch female threaded port down to a 3/8-inch male threaded connection. It features a male iron pipe thread (MIPT) on the outer end and a female iron pipe thread (FIPT) on the inner end, allowing it to step down pipe or fitting sizes within a threaded assembly. This bushing is commonly installed by plumbers and pipefitters working on low-pressure water distribution, irrigation, and general fluid-handling systems where a compact, corrosion-resistant threaded reducer is needed.
This bushing is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications including water supply lines, irrigation manifolds, and pool or spa plumbing where PVC Schedule 40 fittings are the system standard. The MIPT x FIPT configuration makes it straightforward to thread directly into an existing female-threaded fitting or valve body while accepting a 3/8-inch male-threaded pipe or fitting on the opposite side.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 40 PVC threaded piping systems requiring a 3/4-inch to 3/8-inch bushing reduction.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter. Apply appropriate thread sealant tape or compound to the male threads before assembly and hand-tighten before using strap wrenches to avoid cracking the PVC body. Do not use pipe wrenches that exceed the torque tolerance of plastic fittings. Shut off and depressurize the water supply before removing or installing any threaded fitting in a live line.
