The VALUE COLLECTION 438-291 is a Schedule 40 PVC pipe bushing designed to reduce a 2-1/2 inch pipe or fitting down to a 1-1/2 inch threaded connection. The slip inlet accepts a plain-end pipe or spigot fitting, while the female iron pipe thread (FIPT) outlet connects to any standard NPT-threaded male fitting or valve. Constructed from rigid PVC, this bushing is suited for cold and ambient-temperature water distribution, irrigation, and low-pressure drain or vent piping. Plumbers and pipefitters install it wherever a reducing transition between a larger slip line and a smaller threaded component is required.

This bushing fits into residential and light commercial plumbing systems, irrigation laterals, and pool or spa piping where Schedule 40 PVC is the specified material. Installation Notes
