The VALUE COLLECTION 438-250 is a Schedule 40 PVC pipe bushing designed to reduce a 2-inch connection down to a 1-1/4-inch connection in low-pressure plumbing and irrigation systems. The spigot (slip) end inserts into a socket fitting on the larger side, while the female iron pipe thread (FIPT) end accepts a threaded male fitting on the smaller side. Weighing 0.44 pounds, this bushing is a straightforward, solvent-weld-compatible component suited for plumbers, irrigation technicians, and pipefitters working with Schedule 40 PVC systems.
This bushing is commonly used in residential and light commercial plumbing, pool and spa plumbing, and irrigation distribution systems wherever a pipe or fitting transition from 2 inches down to 1-1/4 inches is required. The FIPT outlet accepts standard NPT-threaded male fittings, making it compatible with a wide range of threaded valves, adapters, and equipment connections. It is sold individually and is a standard stocking item for service vans and supply rooms.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit component for Schedule 40 PVC piping systems using 2-inch slip and 1-1/4-inch NPT threaded connections.
Installation is performed by plumbers or qualified pipefitters working with Schedule 40 PVC systems. Shut off water supply and depressurize the line before fitting installation. Apply approved PVC primer and solvent cement to the spigot end per the fitting manufacturer and applicable plumbing code requirements. Use PTFE thread tape or approved thread sealant on the FIPT connection; do not overtighten threaded connections, as PVC threads can crack under excessive torque.
