The VALUE COLLECTION 436-015 is a Schedule 40 PVC male adapter designed to transition between male iron pipe thread (MIPT) and slip socket connections in plastic piping systems. At 1-1/2 inches, this fitting serves as a reliable mechanical connection point where a threaded pipe or fitting must join a slip-fit PVC line. PVC construction provides corrosion resistance and is well suited for cold and ambient-temperature fluid handling in residential and light commercial plumbing applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of drain, waste, vent, and cold water supply assemblies.
This male adapter is appropriate for Schedule 40 PVC piping systems used in residential plumbing, irrigation, pool and spa circulation lines, and light commercial water distribution. The MIPT end threads onto a female-threaded fitting or valve body while the slip end accepts a solvent-welded PVC pipe of matching nominal size. It is a standard component in any installation where a transition from threaded to solvent-weld connection is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for 1-1/2 inch Schedule 40 PVC piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off water supply and depressurize the line before beginning work. The MIPT end requires thread sealant tape or compound on male threads before assembly; the slip end requires PVC primer and solvent cement applied per the cement manufacturer instructions. Do not use this fitting on hot water lines or applications exceeding the pressure and temperature ratings of Schedule 40 PVC.
