The VALUE COLLECTION 42939 is an M8 x 1.25 x 10 mm cup point set screw manufactured from alloy steel to Grade 14.9 (45H). It conforms to DIN 916, the metric standard for hexagon socket set screws with cup points. The cup point geometry bites into the mating shaft surface to resist rotational and axial movement without requiring a through-hole or protruding head. This fastener is driven with a 4.00 mm hex key. Each package contains 50 pieces, making it suitable for production assembly, maintenance stock, or bench inventory. Mechanical contractors, millwrights, and equipment technicians commonly use this type of fastener in motor couplings, shaft collars, pulleys, and similar rotating components.
This set screw is appropriate for metric threaded bores requiring an M8 x 1.25 thread pitch. At 10 mm overall length, it fits shallow engagement depths common in shaft collar and hub applications across light industrial, HVAC equipment, and mechanical systems. Grade 14.9 (45H) alloy steel construction provides high tensile and proof load capacity, making it well suited for high-torque or vibration-prone installations where fastener retention is critical. The 50-piece pack supports both single-use repair work and ongoing service inventory needs.
Designed as a DIN 916 metric hex socket cup point set screw for use in any M8 x 1.25 threaded bore requiring a 10 mm overall length fastener.
Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic or millwright using a calibrated 4.00 mm hex key or hex bit driver. Ensure the mating shaft and threaded bore are clean and free of debris before driving the screw. Do not exceed the torque rating of the Grade 14.9 (45H) fastener or apply thread-locking compounds unless specified by the equipment manufacturer. Follow applicable machinery safety procedures and lock out or tag out equipment before servicing any rotating assemblies.
