The VALUE COLLECTION 429-4106 is a 10-inch diameter, 4-jaw independent manual lathe chuck designed for precision workholding on metalworking lathes. Each jaw moves independently, allowing operators to grip and center irregularly shaped, square, or non-concentric workpieces that a scroll chuck cannot reliably hold. The body is cast iron with a D1-6 direct camlock mount spindle interface, which allows for fast, repeatable mounting and removal from compatible lathe spindles. The 2.953-inch through-hole diameter accommodates bar stock fed through the spindle. At 50 pounds, this is a heavy-duty chuck suited for production and toolroom environments where rigid, accurate workholding is required.
This chuck is suited for manual engine lathes and gap-bed lathes equipped with a D1-6 spindle nose. It is appropriate for job shop, toolroom, and production turning operations where operators need to hold castings, forgings, or multi-sided workpieces that require individual jaw adjustment. The one-piece reversible solid jaws extend the chuck's usable gripping range by allowing jaws to be flipped for inside-diameter or larger outside-diameter clamping. Typical users include machinist tradespeople and industrial maintenance machinists working on steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous materials.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the lathe manufacturer's spindle nose mounting procedure for D1-6 camlock chucks. Power down and lock out the lathe completely before mounting or removing the chuck. Due to the 50-pound weight, use an appropriate lifting aid or chuck cradle to avoid injury and spindle damage during installation. Verify camlock stud engagement and torque to the lathe manufacturer's specification before operation.
