The VALUE COLLECTION 429-3086 is a manual, self-centering 3-jaw lathe chuck designed for metal turning operations on engine lathes and similar manual machine tools. The chuck measures 8 inches in diameter and features a D1-6 direct mount spindle interface, making it compatible with lathes equipped with a D1-6 camlock spindle nose. The body is cast iron construction. A 1.97-inch (50 mm) through-hole allows bar stock to pass through the spindle. Reversible two-piece jaws extend the holding range for both outside-diameter and inside-diameter clamping. This chuck is installed and serviced by machinists and machine tool technicians in job shop, production, and maintenance environments.

This chuck suits general-purpose turning work on manual engine lathes with a D1-6 spindle nose. Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or machine tool technician. Clean the spindle nose camlock studs and chuck mounting face thoroughly before seating the chuck; debris on the mating surfaces affects runout. Torque camlock pins to the lathe manufacturer's specification using the correct chuck wrench — never use a pipe extension on the chuck wrench.
