The VALUE COLLECTION 41682 is a seamless, round aluminum tube manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. It measures 6 feet in length with a 5/16 inch outside diameter, a 0.243 inch inside diameter, and a wall thickness of 0.035 inches. The seamless construction eliminates weld seams, making it suitable for applications where consistent wall integrity and dimensional accuracy are required. This tube meets AMS4082 and ASTM B210 standards, confirming it is produced to recognized aerospace and industrial specifications. It is handled and installed by machinists, fabricators, HVAC technicians, and plumbing tradespeople working with small-diameter tubing stock.
This tube is well suited for light structural framing, fluid transfer lines, pneumatic systems, refrigeration line fabrication, and general fabrication tasks where a small-diameter, tight-tolerance aluminum tube is needed. The 6061-T6 temper provides a balance of strength and machinability, making it easy to cut, drill, bend, and thread in shop or field conditions. It is commonly used in both residential and commercial applications where aluminum is preferred over copper or steel for weight savings and corrosion resistance.
Designed as a general-purpose small-diameter seamless aluminum round tube suitable for fabrication, fluid transfer, and structural applications requiring 5/16 inch OD tubing stock in 6061-T6 alloy.
Cutting should be performed with a tube cutter or fine-tooth saw to avoid deforming the tube wall; deburr cut ends before fitting. When used in pressurized systems, follow applicable codes such as ASME B31.3 or the relevant mechanical code for the jurisdiction. Secure all upstream pressure sources and depressurize lines fully before removing or replacing tubing in service. This material is machinable and weldable, but welding will alter the T6 temper locally and may reduce strength at the joint.
