The VALUE COLLECTION 401-053 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing tee designed for low-pressure piping systems where a branch connection requires a size transition. The fitting measures 3/8 x 3/8 x 1/2 inches with all-slip end connections, allowing solvent-cement joining on all three ports. Constructed from PVC, it offers corrosion resistance suitable for water supply, irrigation, and light chemical distribution lines. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting when splitting or reducing flow from a main run to a smaller branch, or when adapting between two pipe sizes within the same system.
This reducing tee is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, irrigation manifolds, and potable or non-potable water distribution lines that call for Schedule 40 PVC fittings. All-slip connections accept standard Schedule 40 PVC pipe at each port, making it compatible with common PVC piping systems in the specified sizes. It is sold individually and is appropriate for new construction as well as repair and replacement work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 40 PVC piping systems using 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch pipe with slip-style connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water supply before cutting into any existing line. Clean and dry all pipe ends, apply PVC primer, then apply solvent cement to both the pipe and fitting socket before joining. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before restoring pressure to the system.
