The VALUE COLLECTION 399-1129 is a round silicon carbide toolroom finishing stick designed for precision deburring, honing, and surface finishing of metal components. At 4 inches long and 0.5 inches in diameter, this medium-grade stick delivers controlled material removal on hard metals, carbide tooling, and hardened steel surfaces. Silicon carbide is a sharp, hard abrasive that cuts aggressively on contact, making it well suited for smoothing tool edges, cleaning up mold cavities, and removing burrs from machined parts. The black silicon carbide composition provides consistent cut rate across the working surface throughout the life of the stick.
This finishing stick is used in toolroom, maintenance, and production environments where hand-finishing of dies, punches, molds, and precision-machined components is required. The round profile allows access to grooves, bores, radii, and contoured surfaces that flat or square sticks cannot reach. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians reach for this style of stick when cleaning up tight internal radii or polishing contact surfaces on tooling. Medium grade provides a balance between stock removal rate and surface finish, making it appropriate for general-purpose toolroom deburring and blending.
Designed as a general-purpose toolroom finishing stick suitable for hand-finishing hardened steel, carbide, cast iron, and non-ferrous metal components in machining and maintenance applications.
This finishing stick is applied by hand or with a holder in toolroom and bench work settings. Always wear appropriate eye protection and gloves when using abrasive sticks, as silicon carbide particles and metal burrs can become airborne. Keep the work surface secured to prevent movement during finishing. Inspect the stick before use and discard if cracked or significantly worn, as a compromised abrasive stick can fracture under pressure.
