The VALUE COLLECTION 395-1336 is a Style D keyway broach machined from high speed steel for cutting precise keyways in ferrous and non-ferrous metal workpieces. The broach measures 1/2 inch wide and 9/16 inch in body width, with a cutting length range of 1 to 6 inches and an overall length of 13-7/8 inches. The bright finish indicates an uncoated, ground surface. Three shims are required for proper depth setting during use. This tool is installed and operated by machinists, toolroom technicians, and precision metalworking shops.
The 395-1336 is suited for broaching keyways in hubs, gears, pulleys, and bores across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous metal applications. The Style D profile is a standard push-type configuration used with an arbor press or broaching press. The 1 to 6 inch cutting length range makes it adaptable to varied bore depths in production and maintenance machining environments.
Designed for cutting 1/2 inch keyways in ferrous and non-ferrous metal workpieces using a standard push-type broaching press or arbor press setup with appropriate shim sets.
Keyway broaching is performed by machinists using an arbor press or dedicated broaching press. Always secure the workpiece firmly before pressing the broach through the bore. Confirm the correct number of shims are seated properly before each pass to achieve the specified keyway depth. Do not exceed the rated cutting length for the workpiece bore, and apply cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material to extend tool life.
