The VALUE COLLECTION 38408 is a zinc-plated steel concrete wedge anchor designed to create secure, load-bearing fastener points in solid concrete. The anchor features a hex head drive configuration and installs by expansion against the base material as the nut is tightened. At 3/8 inches in diameter with an overall length of 3-3/4 inches and a thread length of 2-3/8 inches, it suits a wide range of structural anchoring tasks. The 1018 steel construction with zinc plating provides corrosion resistance appropriate for interior and protected exterior applications. Each package contains 10 anchors. Electricians, HVAC mechanics, plumbers, and general contractors use wedge anchors to secure equipment, pipe hangers, strut channel, and structural supports to concrete substrates.
This wedge anchor is suited for residential and light commercial applications where equipment or structural components must be fastened directly to poured concrete or concrete block. Common install scenarios include securing conduit strut, pipe support brackets, equipment pads, electrical panels, mechanical equipment bases, and similar fixtures. The hex head accepts a standard open-end or socket wrench for installation. Each anchor ships with a matching nut and washer included for direct use on the job.
Designed for use in solid poured concrete and concrete masonry applications requiring a 3/8 inches diameter wedge-style expansion anchor with hex head drive.
Wedge anchors are installed by licensed tradespeople including electricians, plumbers, and HVAC mechanics following applicable building and mechanical codes. Drill the concrete with a carbide-tipped hammer drill bit sized to match the anchor diameter before installation. Insert the anchor into the hole, thread on the nut and washer, and tighten to draw up the expansion clip — do not overtighten beyond snug plus the manufacturer-specified turns without a verified torque value. Always verify minimum embedment depth and edge distance requirements per the applicable building code before installation.
