The VALUE COLLECTION 383-8022 is an FR-style single-point tool bit designed for precision turning and facing operations on a lathe. Built to industry standard FR-12 specifications, it features a solid carbide tip graded at C2, offering the hardness and wear resistance needed for demanding cutting applications. The 3/4-inch square shank provides rigid setup in standard toolholders, while the 1/32-inch nose radius supports clean surface finishes. With a 4.5-inch overall length, this right-hand tool bit is a practical, direct-to-work cutting solution for machinists and toolroom professionals.
This tool bit is suited for straddle facing, turning, and facing-to-shoulder operations on conventional and CNC engine lathes. The C2 carbide grade performs well on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and general-purpose steel at moderate cutting speeds. Right-hand cutting direction means the tool feeds from right to left toward the chuck, which is the standard orientation for most turning setups. It is appropriate for both production and maintenance machining environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit tool bit conforming to FR-12 industry standard dimensions, compatible with standard lathe toolholders accepting a 3/4-inch square shank.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the lathe before seating or adjusting the tool bit in the toolholder. Ensure the cutting edge is set at the correct center height for the workpiece before engaging the spindle. Inspect the carbide tip for chipping or cratering before each use and replace if damage is present.
