The VALUE COLLECTION 383-3076 is a Style D single-point tool bit designed for precision chamfering operations on manual and CNC lathes. It features a solid carbide tip with a C6 grade rating, suited for machining harder materials at elevated cutting speeds. The neutral cutting direction makes it usable for either left- or right-hand approaches without repositioning the tool holder. The shank measures 3/4 inches in both height and width, and the overall length is 4-1/2 inches. The 80-degree included angle and pointed nose geometry are consistent with the D-12 industry standard. Machinists and toolroom professionals install this bit in standard square-shank tool holders.
This tool bit is intended for chamfering applications in general machining environments, including job shops, production floors, and toolroom setups. It is suited for use on ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a C6 carbide grade provides appropriate hardness and wear resistance. The D-12 industry standard designation allows direct cross-reference and drop-in replacement in tool holders designed for that specification. This is a single-piece item, sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitution for D-12 standard single-point tool bit applications in square-shank tool holders accepting a 3/4 inch shank.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or adjusting the tool bit in the holder. Secure the shank firmly with appropriate set screws torqued to the machine manufacturer's specification. Verify tool height alignment to centerline before starting a cut.
