The VALUE COLLECTION 383-2062 is a single-point tool bit designed for use in lathe and turning operations across a range of metal-cutting applications. Built to industry standard C-12, this square nose bit features a C2 solid carbide tip brazed to a neutral cutting-direction geometry. The shank measures 3/4 inches in both height and width, and the overall length is 4.5 inches. The C2 carbide grade provides the wear resistance and edge retention needed for general-purpose turning on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and similar materials. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this bit in compatible tool holders for precision stock removal.
This tool bit suits residential shop, industrial, and production machining environments where a neutral-geometry, square nose bit is required. Typical applications include chamfering, facing, forming, and turning operations on a manual or CNC lathe. The neutral cutting direction makes it versatile for straight cuts without a left- or right-hand bias, fitting a broad range of part profiles and fixturing setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tool bit for lathe tool holders and boring bars that accept the C-12 industry standard single-point bit with a 3/4 inch by 3/4 inch shank.
Installation is performed by machinists and toolroom technicians. Before mounting, power down and lock out the lathe spindle per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully in the tool holder and secure with the appropriate set screws before engaging the workpiece. Inspect the carbide tip for chips or cracks before each use, as a damaged tip can cause workpiece damage or tool ejection.
