The VALUE COLLECTION 375-5056 is a right-hand boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on lathes and boring mills. Constructed from M35 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard M2 HSS tooling, making it well suited for harder workpiece materials and interrupted cuts. The bar features a 3/8 inch minimum bore diameter, a 1/2 inch shank diameter, and an overall length of 2.5 inches. It is a single-piece tool intended for machinists and toolroom operators performing small-diameter internal machining work.
This boring bar fits standard right-hand boring applications in general machining, toolroom, and job-shop environments. It is sized for small-bore work, with a minimum bore diameter of 3/8 inch and a maximum bore depth of 1-1/8 inch, making it appropriate for short, tight-tolerance bores in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 1/2 inch shank fits common lathe tool holders and boring head setups used in both manual and CNC turning applications.
Designed as a direct-fit boring bar for lathe tool holders and boring heads accepting a 1/2 inch round shank with right-hand cutting orientation.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom operators. Secure the shank firmly in the tool holder to the full recommended engagement depth to minimize overhang and chatter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing or adjusting tooling. Verify tool centerline height against the workpiece axis before commencing a cut.
