The VALUE COLLECTION 375-1472 is a right-hand carbide-tipped boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on a lathe or boring machine. Tipped with C2-grade carbide, it handles a minimum bore diameter of 0.5625 inches (9/16 inches) and reaches a maximum bore depth of 1.5 inches. The 5/8-inch shank diameter provides rigid tool holding, and the 3-inch overall length suits compact tooling setups. Machinists and tool-and-die workers use this bar for enlarging, finishing, or truing existing bored holes in ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials.
This boring bar is suited for general-purpose turning and boring work in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments. It performs well in applications requiring accurate bore sizing and smooth internal finishes. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional lathe operation where the spindle turns counterclockwise when viewed from the tailstock. Its compact 3-inch overall length makes it a practical choice for short-reach internal boring setups on manual and CNC lathes.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or addition for standard boring bar holders accepting a 5/8-inch shank on manual and CNC lathes.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine before inserting or removing the boring bar from the tool holder. Secure the shank firmly in a boring bar holder or tool post block, minimizing overhang to reduce chatter and deflection. Follow machine manufacturer torque guidance for set screws when clamping the shank.
