The VALUE COLLECTION 375-1462 is a right-hand carbide-tipped boring bar designed for internal boring operations on lathes and boring machines. The cutting tip is C2 grade carbide, suited for general-purpose machining of cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and similar materials at moderate cutting speeds. The bar accepts a minimum bore diameter of 7/16 inches and reaches a maximum bore depth of 2-1/4 inches. The 5/8-inch shank diameter provides rigid tool holding in standard boring bar holders and tool posts. Overall length is 3-3/4 inches. Machinists and toolroom operators use this bar for production and repair work where consistent bore geometry is required.
This boring bar is suited for light to medium-duty internal turning and boring operations in manual and CNC lathe setups. The right-hand cutting direction means the tool feeds from right to left in standard orientation. It is a practical choice for shops needing a reliable, ready-to-use boring bar for small-diameter bores in steel fixtures, bushings, housings, and similar workpieces without the cost of solid carbide tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard shop boring bar for use in lathe tool posts and boring bar holders accepting a 5/8-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Power down and lock out the machine before securing the boring bar in the tool holder. Ensure the shank is fully supported in the holder with minimal overhang to reduce chatter and tool deflection. Verify cutting tip height is set to centerline of the workpiece before beginning the boring operation.
