The VALUE COLLECTION 375-1286 is a right-hand carbide-tipped boring bar designed for internal turning and bore finishing operations on lathes and boring mills. It accepts a minimum bore diameter of 9/16 inches (0.5625 inches) and reaches a maximum bore depth of 2-1/4 inches. The 1/2-inch shank diameter fits standard tool holders and quick-change toolposts common in both manual and CNC turning setups. The C6 carbide-tipped insert grade is suited for general-purpose machining of cast iron, steel, and non-ferrous materials at moderate cutting speeds. Overall length is 3-3/4 inches. Machinists and tool and die shops use this bar for precision bore sizing where finish quality and dimensional accuracy are the primary requirements.
This boring bar is appropriate for light to medium-duty internal boring work in job shop, maintenance, and production turning environments. It is suited for residential and commercial machine shops as well as vocational and industrial training settings. The right-hand cutting direction means material is fed from right to left in conventional lathe orientation. At 0.21 pounds, the bar is lightweight enough for small-to-medium lathes without excessive overhang concerns when operating within its stated bore depth range.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or addition for lathes and boring mills that accept 1/2-inch shank boring bars with right-hand cutting orientation.
This boring bar is installed by a machinist or tool and die technician. The machine spindle must be brought to a full stop and the lathe powered down before mounting or adjusting the bar in the tool holder. Ensure the shank is clamped securely with adequate support to minimize deflection at the stated maximum bore depth. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool overhang limits and cutting speed recommendations for the C6 carbide grade.
