The VALUE COLLECTION 375-1096 is a right-hand carbide-tipped boring bar designed for internal diameter turning and bore enlargement on metal lathes and boring mills. Built with a C6-grade carbide tip brazed to a steel shank, it delivers consistent cutting performance on cast iron, steel, and similar ferrous materials. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits standard quick-change and lantern-style tool posts common in manual and CNC turning setups. At 3.5 inches overall length with a maximum bore depth of 2.25 inches and a minimum bore diameter of 0.4375 inches, it covers a practical range of small-bore finishing and semi-finishing operations.
This boring bar is suited for job shop, toolroom, and maintenance machining applications where small-bore precision work is required. It is appropriate for single-point boring passes on lathes with 3/8-inch tooling capacity. Typical use cases include bore sizing, cleanup of drilled holes, and light material removal to achieve dimensional accuracy in ferrous workpieces. It is sold individually and is a ready-to-use solution without requiring additional insert hardware.
Designed for use in manual and CNC lathes or boring mills that accept 3/8-inch shank tooling with a minimum bore clearance of 0.4375 inches.
Secure the shank firmly in the tool post or holder to the full recommended engagement depth to minimize overhang and reduce vibration. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the boring bar. Set tool height on center before beginning a boring pass. Inspect the carbide tip for chipping or wear before each use and replace the bar if the cutting edge is compromised.
