The VALUE COLLECTION 375-1082 is a right-hand, carbide-tipped boring bar designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on a lathe. Tipped with C2-grade carbide, it delivers consistent cutting performance on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and general-purpose materials. The bar accepts a minimum bore diameter of 7/16 inches and reaches a maximum bore depth of 1-11/16 inches, making it well-suited for shallow-to-mid-depth blind and through-bore work. With a 3/8-inch shank diameter and an overall length of 2-15/16 inches, it mounts securely in standard boring bar holders and quick-change tool posts.
This boring bar is intended for use in manual and CNC lathe setups where consistent internal bore geometry is required. It fits light-duty to medium-duty production environments including job shops, maintenance facilities, and machine shops performing bushing installation, bore cleanup, and dimensional sizing. The compact overall length suits smaller lathes and turret tooling arrangements where clearance is limited.
Designed as a standard replacement or shop-stock boring bar for lathes and turret setups accepting a 3/8-inch shank boring bar holder.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank firmly in the boring bar holder before operation, ensuring overhang does not exceed recommended limits for the shank diameter. Power down and lock out the lathe spindle before changing or adjusting tooling. Verify bore diameter and depth settings with appropriate gauging before beginning production cuts.
