The VALUE COLLECTION -36870-1 is a flat socket cap screw designed for applications requiring a flush or countersunk fastener profile. It features an 82-degree flat head driven by a 1/2-inch hex socket, making it compatible with standard Allen-type tooling. The screw measures 3/4-10 UNC thread by 1-1/2 inches overall length and is fully threaded along its entire length. Manufactured from alloy steel with a black oxide finish, it offers improved corrosion resistance compared to bare steel and reduces light reflection in low-visibility assemblies. This fastener meets ASME/ANSI B18.3 and ASTM F835 dimensional and mechanical standards. Sold in packages of 10.
This flat socket cap screw is suited for machine assembly, tooling fixtures, and structural connections where the fastener head must sit flush with or below the mating surface. The 3/4-10 UNC thread pattern is a coarse-pitch standard common in general industrial and mechanical applications. It is appropriate for use in steel, aluminum, and other rigid substrates that are pre-drilled and countersunk to accept an 82-degree flat-head profile. Machinists, millwrights, and maintenance mechanics are the typical installers in manufacturing, fabrication, and equipment-service environments.
Designed as a standard 3/4-10 UNC flat socket cap screw for use in countersunk holes machined to an 82-degree included angle per ASME/ANSI B18.3 specifications.
Installation requires a pre-drilled and countersunk hole sized to the 82-degree flat-head geometry. Use the correct 1/2-inch hex key or socket-bit driver and apply torque according to the applicable engineering specification for the joint material and alloy steel grade. De-energize and lock out all equipment before fastener replacement on live machinery. Do not overtighten into soft base materials, as the flat head may pull through an improperly sized countersink.
