The VALUE COLLECTION 36682 is a 7/8-9 threaded rod cut to 3 feet in length, manufactured from low-carbon steel with a yellow zinc finish for corrosion resistance. This rod uses a Unified National Coarse (UNC) thread form with a right-hand thread direction, making it compatible with standard UNC fastener hardware. Threaded rod of this type is widely used in structural support, suspension hangers, and mechanical assemblies across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general construction applications. Installation is typically performed by mechanical, HVAC, or plumbing trades working with strut channel, beam clamps, and all-thread hardware.
This 3-foot all-thread rod suits residential and light commercial jobsite applications where full-length threaded stock is needed for hanger rod assemblies, equipment mounting, vibration isolation hangers, or pipe and conduit support systems. The 7/8-9 thread size is a common heavy-duty designation used in structural and mechanical suspension work. The yellow zinc coating provides a base level of corrosion protection suitable for indoor and sheltered installations. Cut-to-length or used as a full stick, it accepts standard 7/8-9 hex nuts, coupling nuts, and washers.
Designed for use with standard 7/8-9 UNC threaded fastener hardware including hex nuts, coupling nuts, rod hangers, beam clamps, and strut fittings commonly used in HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical support assemblies.
Threaded rod installation is typically performed by HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical contractors working under applicable codes such as the IFGC, IPC, or IMC for support and hanger requirements. Power down or de-energize any adjacent electrical equipment before working in close proximity to energized systems. Use a rod cutter, hacksaw, or abrasive cutoff tool to cut to length, and chase cut ends with a die to restore thread form before installing nuts. Always verify load ratings of associated hanger hardware against the supported load before final installation.
