The VALUE COLLECTION 365-1069 is a hex rethreading die designed to restore damaged or corroded external threads on fasteners, fittings, and threaded rod. Sized for 7/8-24 thread, right-hand direction, and machined from carbon steel, this die is a practical shop and field tool for mechanics, millwrights, plumbers, and HVAC technicians who need to clean up threads without replacing the entire fastener. The hex body allows a standard wrench to drive the die, making it usable in tight spaces where a full die stock may not fit. It conforms to UNS thread standards.
This rethreading die is suited for maintenance and repair applications across commercial and residential service work. It is commonly used when a nut or fitting will not thread properly due to rust, impact damage, or cross-threading. Technicians working on pipe fittings, condensate hardware, mechanical assemblies, or threaded structural components will find this die useful as a stand-alone cleanup tool. The 7/8-24 size is a fine-pitch specification commonly encountered in automotive, hydraulic, and specialty mechanical applications.
Designed as a rethreading tool for external 7/8-24 right-hand UNS threads on fasteners, threaded rod, and fittings made from mild steel or softer base metals.
Rethreading dies are used by machinists, mechanics, and trade technicians performing thread repair. Before use, de-energize or depressurize any system containing the threaded component being serviced. Apply thread-cutting oil to the die and the damaged thread before driving to reduce friction and improve thread form. Drive slowly with a wrench, backing off periodically to clear chips, following standard thread-chasing practice.
