The VALUE COLLECTION 365-1063 is a hex rethreading die designed to restore damaged or corroded external threads to their original specification. It cuts a 13/16-16 thread profile in the right-hand direction, conforming to the UNS (Unified National Special) thread standard. The die is machined from carbon steel, providing the hardness needed to clean and recut metal fasteners, fittings, and threaded rod. It is a standard shop and field tool used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and trade professionals who need to salvage threaded components rather than replace them.
This rethreading die is suited for maintenance and repair work on equipment with 13/16-16 UNS external threads. Typical applications include restoring threads on bolts, studs, shafts, and hydraulic or pneumatic fittings where thread damage has occurred from impact, corrosion, or cross-threading. The hex body style allows it to be turned with a standard open-end wrench or adjustable wrench, making it practical for both bench work and in-place field repairs.
Designed for use on external 13/16-16 UNS right-hand threads found on bolts, studs, and threaded fittings across industrial and mechanical applications.
Rethreading dies are typically used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and qualified trade professionals. Before use, secure the workpiece and ensure the die is aligned squarely with the thread axis to prevent cross-threading or die damage. Apply cutting oil to the die and workpiece to reduce friction and extend tool life. Do not force the die past resistance — back off periodically to clear chips, especially on deeper threads.
