The VALUE COLLECTION 365-0441 is a hex rethreading die designed to restore damaged or corroded external threads to their original specification. Built from carbon steel, this die is suited for field repair and shop maintenance work where threads have been nicked, flattened, or otherwise compromised. The 11/16-11 thread size follows the UNS (Unified National Special) standard, and the right-hand thread direction matches conventional fastener orientation. Licensed mechanics, pipefitters, and general maintenance technicians reach for rethreading dies when replacing a fastener is not practical and restoring the existing thread is the faster path to getting equipment back in service.
This die is appropriate for use on bolts, studs, and threaded rod in residential, commercial, and light industrial maintenance settings. The hex body style allows a standard open-end wrench or adjustable wrench to drive the die by hand, making it practical for confined spaces or jobsite use without a dedicated die stock handle. Typical applications include restoring threads on plumbing fittings, equipment mounting hardware, and structural fasteners across HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical trades.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement rethreading die for use on external 11/16-11 UNS right-hand threaded fasteners in general mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and maintenance applications.
Rethreading dies are installed by licensed mechanics, pipefitters, or trained maintenance technicians as part of thread repair procedures. Before use, de-energize and lock out any equipment containing the fastener being serviced in accordance with applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Apply a cutting or tapping fluid to the die and the fastener threads before engaging the die to reduce friction and improve cut quality. Turn the die slowly and back off periodically to clear chips, especially when working with corroded or heavily damaged threads.
