The VALUE COLLECTION 365-0362 is a hex rethreading die designed to restore damaged or corroded external threads to their original specification. Built from carbon steel, this die handles 9/16-18 UNF right-hand threads. Rethreading dies are used when a fastener or threaded shaft has been nicked, cross-threaded, or rusted to the point where a nut will not run cleanly. The hex body allows a standard wrench or die stock to drive the tool without slipping. At 0.08 pounds, it is a compact addition to any service kit used by plumbers, HVAC technicians, electricians, or general maintenance trades.
This die is suited for field and shop repair work on 9/16-18 UNF threaded fasteners and fittings. The 9/16-18 UNF specification is common on hydraulic fittings, automotive hardware, and mechanical assemblies found across light industrial and trade service applications. It is appropriate for use where thread restoration is needed without full thread cutting into new material.
Designed as a rethreading die for external 9/16-18 UNF right-hand threaded fasteners, shafts, and fittings. Suitable for use with standard die stocks and adjustable wrenches that accept a hex-body die.
Rethreading dies are installed by a mechanic, pipefitter, or service technician using a die stock or wrench. Before use, clean debris and loose rust from the damaged thread with a wire brush. Apply thread cutting oil to the die and the workpiece to reduce heat and extend die life. Always confirm the die thread specification matches the fastener before applying rotational force to avoid further thread damage.
