The VALUE COLLECTION 364-0390 is a hex rethreading die engineered to restore damaged or corroded external metric fine threads to their original specification. Built from carbon steel, this die delivers the hardness needed to chase and clean threads on fasteners, studs, and threaded rod without removing material unnecessarily. It measures 1 inch thick and is designed for right-hand thread direction, matching the most common thread orientation in industrial and mechanical applications. The M39x1.5 thread size targets large-diameter fasteners found in heavy equipment, structural assemblies, and machinery maintenance work. Machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians rely on this type of die for field repair and shop reconditioning tasks.
This rethreading die is suited for use on M39x1.5 metric fine threaded fasteners and components in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, and heavy equipment service environments. Rethreading dies of this size are most commonly used by maintenance teams working on large machinery frames, hydraulic cylinder rods, and structural bolted connections where replacing a damaged fastener in place is impractical. The hex body style allows standard die stock wrenches to drive the die with controlled torque during thread restoration work.
Designed for use on M39x1.5 right-hand metric fine threaded fasteners and components. Intended for use with standard hex die stocks sized to accept this die body.
This die should be installed and operated by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician familiar with thread restoration procedures. Secure the workpiece before engaging the die, and apply cutting fluid to reduce heat and extend die life during use. Inspect the die for wear or chipping before each use, and do not force the die onto severely deformed threads without first clearing obstructions with a file or thread file. Follow applicable shop safety practices when working with cutting tools.
