The VALUE COLLECTION 364-0063 is a hex rethreading die designed to restore damaged or corroded external metric threads. It fits standard hex die stocks and drivers, allowing a technician to chase and repair M6x1 metric coarse threads without removing the fastener from the assembly. The carbon steel construction provides the hardness needed to cut through rust, burrs, and thread deformation on bolts, studs, and threaded rod. This type of die is a standard hand-tool item carried by plumbers, HVAC technicians, electricians, and general maintenance mechanics who service threaded fasteners in the field.
Hex rethreading dies are used wherever metric-threaded fasteners are damaged in service — on equipment panels, pipe fittings, conduit hardware, motor mounts, and mechanical assemblies. The M6x1 size covers one of the most common metric fastener diameters in HVAC equipment and light commercial machinery. The right-hand thread direction matches the standard rotation for the vast majority of metric fasteners encountered in the trade.

De-energize and lock out equipment before servicing any fasteners on electrical or mechanical assemblies. Apply a suitable cutting oil to the die and fastener before use to reduce friction and extend tool life. Turn the die slowly in the right-hand direction, backing off periodically to clear debris. Inspect the repaired thread with a nut or thread gauge before returning the fastener to service.
