The VALUE COLLECTION 363-6085 is a parallel-style cutoff blade designed for parting and grooving operations on manual and CNC lathes. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a bright finish, this blade delivers consistent edge retention and reliable performance across a range of workpiece materials including mild steel, aluminum, and plastics. It measures 1/8 inch wide, 1-1/8 inches high, and 6-1/2 inches long, making it compatible with standard cutoff blade holders sized for that profile. The bright finish indicates an uncoated surface, suitable for general-purpose parting applications where a coated grade is not required. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this blade in a toolholder mounted on the lathe cross-slide for accurate cutoff operations.
This cutoff blade is suited for production and job-shop environments where repeatable parting cuts are needed on a variety of materials. The parallel blade style maintains consistent width from tip to shank, simplifying setup and re-sharpening. It is appropriate for use on engine lathes, turret lathes, and similar turning equipment. The industry standard designation for this blade profile is P8X, which can assist in cross-referencing compatible toolholders and blade holders already in use in the shop.
Designed as a standard replacement or spare parallel cutoff blade for use in toolholders accepting the P8X industry standard blade profile. Confirm holder slot dimensions match 1/8 inch wide by 1-1/8 inch high before installation.
This blade is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician into a compatible cutoff toolholder mounted on the lathe cross-slide. Power down and lock out the lathe before removing or seating the blade. Ensure the blade is clamped securely and seated squarely in the holder to prevent deflection or chatter during the parting operation. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's recommended blade extension beyond the holder face.
