The VALUE COLLECTION 3422000 is a taper bolt concrete anchor designed for fastening structural and mechanical components directly into concrete, masonry, or block. The anchor features a hex head with hex drive, allowing installation with standard hand or power tools. Constructed from Grade 5 zinc-plated steel, the fastener provides solid holding strength in base material while the zinc coating offers basic corrosion resistance for indoor and protected outdoor environments. At 3 inches overall length with a 3/8 inch diameter, this anchor suits a wide range of light to medium-duty anchoring tasks encountered in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical rough-in work.
This anchor is suited for attaching equipment supports, strut channel, pipe hangers, electrical enclosures, and similar hardware to poured concrete or concrete masonry unit surfaces. A minimum embedment depth of 1-7/8 inches is required to achieve rated holding performance. Trade professionals installing mechanical systems in commercial or residential construction will find this anchor appropriate for securing unistrut, conduit supports, and equipment base rails to structural concrete.
Designed as an OEM-style mechanical anchor for use in poured concrete and concrete masonry unit substrates where a 3/8 inch taper bolt concrete anchor is specified.
Installation is performed by drilling a correctly sized hole to the required depth using a rotary hammer or SDS drill, clearing the hole of dust and debris, inserting the anchor, and tightening the hex head to seat the taper. Always verify minimum embedment depth of 1-7/8 inches is achieved before applying load. Consult applicable building codes and the anchor manufacturer load tables for specific pull-out and shear values before use in structural applications. De-energize or lock out any nearby electrical equipment before drilling into concrete in areas where embedded conduit or rebar may be present.
