The VALUE COLLECTION 34173 is an open-end blind rivet designed for general-purpose fastening applications where one-sided access is required. Built with a 5052-grade aluminum body and an aluminum mandrel, this size 44 rivet features a dome head profile with a 0.25-inch head diameter and a body diameter of 0.125 inches. It accommodates a grip range of 0.188 to 0.25 inches and requires a drilled hole between 0.129 and 0.133 inches in diameter. With a tensile strength of 150 pounds and a shear strength of 120 pounds, this rivet delivers reliable mechanical performance in lightweight assemblies. Each package contains 100 rivets.
This rivet is suited for sheet metal fabrication, HVAC ductwork, light structural panels, enclosures, and general manufacturing assembly where aluminum-to-aluminum or aluminum-to-substrate joining is required. The open-end design allows the mandrel to pull through and set the rivet from a single side, making it practical in confined or blind installations. It is commonly installed by HVAC technicians, sheet metal workers, and general fabricators using a standard hand or pneumatic rivet tool.
Designed as a standard size 44 open-end blind rivet compatible with hand, pneumatic, and battery-powered rivet tools that accept a No. 30 drill size hole pattern. Suitable for use in sheet metal, thin-gauge aluminum panels, and light structural assemblies requiring one-sided installation.
Installation is performed using a standard blind rivet tool sized for 0.125-inch body diameter rivets. Drill the appropriate hole using a No. 30 drill bit, ensuring the hole diameter falls within 0.129 to 0.133 inches for a proper set. Insert the rivet body fully into the hole before actuating the tool, and confirm the mandrel stem has broken flush or below the rivet head after setting. Inspect the set rivet for a fully formed backside flange before applying load.
