The VALUE COLLECTION 331-2308 is a shell reamer arbor designed to hold and drive shell reamers in machining and metalworking operations. It features a No. 4 Morse Taper (4MT) shank for secure mounting in compatible machine spindles, an overall length of 12 inches, and a maximum arbor diameter of 1 inch. This arbor accepts shell reamers ranging from 1-11/16 inches to 2 inches in diameter. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this type of arbor in drill presses, milling machines, and lathes to finish-ream bored holes to precise diameters.
This shell reamer arbor is suited for use in machine shops and production environments where accurate hole finishing is required. It is appropriate for both light and medium-duty reaming operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 4MT shank is compatible with standard Morse taper spindle sockets found on a wide range of machine tools, making it a practical toolroom holding solution for the 1-11/16 to 2 inch shell reamer size range.
Designed as a standard shell reamer arbor for use with shell reamers having a 1-11/16 inch to 2 inch diameter range, mounted in machine spindles equipped with a No. 4 Morse Taper socket.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Before mounting or removing the arbor, disengage the machine and ensure the spindle is fully stopped. Clean both the arbor taper and the machine spindle socket before seating to prevent fretting and ensure accurate alignment. Use a proper drift and soft-face mallet to remove the arbor from the spindle taper — never strike the arbor directly with a hard hammer.
