The VALUE COLLECTION 327-2642 is a single-angle milling cutter ground from cobalt high-speed steel and intended for angular milling, chamfering, and countersinking operations on ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The cutter measures 1 inch in diameter with a 60-degree included angle and runs on a 1/2-inch shank with a Weldon flat for positive drive in end-mill holders. Overall length is 2.5 inches. The uncoated cobalt construction provides good heat resistance and edge retention without a supplemental surface treatment, making it a solid choice for general-purpose shop use. Installation and setup are performed by machinists and toolroom technicians in CNC and manual milling applications.
This cutter is suited for angular milling operations where a 60-degree included angle is required, including chamfer milling, dovetail preparation, and V-groove cutting on milling machines. The right-hand cutting direction matches standard spindle rotation on conventional vertical and horizontal mills. The 1/2-inch shank diameter is compatible with common end-mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-style set-screw holders found in most machine shop environments. It is appropriate for light to moderate material removal in both production and maintenance toolroom settings.
Designed for use in standard end-mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-style set-screw tool holders with a 1/2-inch bore, as found on conventional and CNC vertical milling machines.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank in a Weldon-style holder by tightening the set screw directly against the Weldon flat — do not seat the set screw against the round shank surface. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a locked-out, de-energized state before inserting or removing the cutter. Inspect the shank and cutting edges for damage before each use and verify holder runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application.
