The VALUE COLLECTION 32316 is a 1/4-inch hex head lag screw designed for heavy-duty fastening applications in wood and structural assemblies. The screw measures 2.5 inches in length under the head and is manufactured from Grade 2 steel with a zinc-plated finish. The zinc plating provides a baseline level of corrosion resistance suited for interior and protected exterior installations. The hex drive head accepts a standard hex socket or wrench for installation. This fastener is used by contractors, electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians when securing equipment, brackets, hangers, or structural components to wood framing or blocking.
This lag screw is commonly specified for mounting pipe hangers, conduit supports, equipment rails, duct hangers, and similar mechanical trade hardware to wood substrates. Its 1/4-inch diameter and 2.5-inch length under head make it well-suited for light- to medium-duty structural anchoring in residential and light commercial construction. It is a standard trade fastener stocked for general use across plumbing, HVAC, and electrical installations where a hex-drive wood screw is required.
Designed as a standard 1/4-inch hex head lag screw for general-purpose fastening in wood framing, blocking, and structural lumber across mechanical trade applications.
Installation is performed with a socket wrench or impact driver fitted with the appropriate hex socket. A pilot hole should be drilled prior to driving to prevent wood splitting and to ease installation torque. No power source needs to be shut down for fastener installation alone, but all mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems in the work area should be de-energized or isolated per applicable NEC, IPC, or IFGC requirements before mounting supported equipment. Do not overdrive the screw, as stripping the wood substrate will reduce holding strength.
