The VALUE COLLECTION 31976780 is a blue tempered 1095 spring steel coil used in fabrication, maintenance, and repair applications requiring a tough, flexible steel strip. The coil measures 0.032 inches thick and 1 inch wide with a total length of 70 feet, offering a continuous supply of material for cutting to length on site. Grade 1095 is a high-carbon steel alloy known for its hardness and spring-back characteristics after forming. The blue temper treatment indicates the steel has been drawn to a controlled hardness level suitable for spring and snap-action components. At 7.6 pounds per coil, it is manageable for bench or field use. Fabricators, maintenance mechanics, and toolmakers are the typical end users.
This steel coil is suited for industrial and commercial maintenance environments where replacement flat springs, clock springs, retaining strips, scrapers, or custom-formed components are needed. It is also used in light manufacturing and machine shops for producing high-volume spring stock from a single roll. The 70-foot continuous length reduces waste compared to cut-length bar stock when multiple pieces of varying size are required from a single coil. Applications span HVAC equipment components, industrial machinery, and general-purpose spring fabrication.
Designed as a general-purpose spring steel strip for fabrication and replacement applications across industrial, commercial, and maintenance trades where Grade 1095 blue tempered steel stock is specified.
This coil is raw stock material and does not install directly into a system without fabrication. Cutting should be performed with appropriate metal shears or an abrasive cutoff wheel rated for hardened steel. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling coiled spring steel, as edges and the free end of the coil can cause injury during uncoiling. Deburr all cut edges before use in any assembly to prevent damage to mating components or seals.
