The VALUE COLLECTION 314-4026 is a round threading die designed to cut external left-hand threads on fasteners, rods, and cylindrical stock. Manufactured from high-speed steel, it delivers the hardness and heat resistance needed for consistent thread cutting in production and repair applications. The die cuts an 8-32 Unified National Coarse thread form and features an adjustable design that allows minor diameter compensation to fine-tune thread fit. Left-hand thread dies are used wherever reverse-thread engagement is required, such as turnbuckles, certain bicycle components, and mechanical assemblies that must resist counterclockwise loosening. This die is installed and used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and tool-and-die professionals.
This die is suited for threading mild steel, aluminum, brass, and similar machinable materials in standard round die stocks that accept the appropriate die outside diameter. The 8-32 UNC left-hand specification makes it a direct tool for applications requiring a coarse-pitch reverse thread. It fits typical bench, lathe, or hand-threading operations where a conventional right-hand die is not appropriate. The adjustable construction adds versatility across short-run and prototype work where precise thread tolerance control is needed.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use round die for standard die stocks sized to accept the appropriate outside diameter for 8-32 UNC dies.
Round dies are used by machinists and maintenance technicians in a die stock or die holder secured to the workpiece or lathe carriage. Ensure the workpiece diameter is turned or ground to the correct major diameter for 8-32 before threading. Apply cutting oil to the die and workpiece throughout the threading operation to reduce heat buildup and extend die life. Left-hand dies must be advanced in the counterclockwise direction relative to the workpiece; confirm thread direction before starting the cut.
