The VALUE COLLECTION 314-1845 is a round threading die designed to cut external M26x1.5 metric fine threads on round stock. Made from high-speed steel (HSS), this die holds cutting edge hardness under the heat generated during threading operations, making it suitable for production and repair work in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and fabrication environments. The adjustable design allows the operator to fine-tune thread fit by slightly expanding or compressing the die within its holder. At 2 inches in outside diameter, it seats in standard 2-inch round die stocks. Right-hand thread direction is the conventional orientation for most metric fastener applications.
This die is suited for threading M26x1.5 metric fine pitch threads on bolts, studs, and round rod stock. Metric fine thread profiles are common in precision mechanical assemblies, automotive components, and hydraulic fittings where a finer pitch provides better vibration resistance and load distribution than coarse thread equivalents. Machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians working with metric-specification equipment will find this die appropriate for both new thread cutting and re-chasing damaged threads.
Designed for use in standard 2-inch round die stocks compatible with adjustable round dies. Cuts external M26x1.5 metric fine right-hand threads on appropriate diameter round stock.
Round dies are installed by machinists and skilled tradespeople using a matching die stock or die handle — verify the stock accepts a 2-inch OD adjustable round die before use. Apply cutting oil generously to the workpiece before and during threading to reduce heat buildup and extend die life. Back off the die periodically during cutting to clear chips and prevent thread damage. Inspect the workpiece diameter against the nominal M26 blank diameter specification before cutting to ensure proper thread form and fit.
